Mercy for Animals investigation

[edit]

Should the paragraph on the Mercy for Animals investigation be included in this article? Winchester Dairy is the company that Mercy for Animals investigated. Winchester Dairy was one milk supplier to Leprino Foods. Nothing in any of the sources say that Leprino Foods was aware of the situation before the investigation. I do not see any reason for it to be included here. GB fan 22:51, 21 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Can we please include the company product information:

Cheese

[edit]

The company's cheeses include mozzarella (the main ingredient on pizza), reduced-fat Monterey jack, provolone, reduced-fat cheddar and various cheese blends, mainly for pizzeria and food service operators, frozen food manufacturers and private label cheese packagers.

Nutrition

[edit]

The company's nutrition products are used in infant formula, protein beverages, nutritional bars, yogurt, reduced-fat ice cream, and other food products. These products include lactose, heat stable proteins, gelling proteins, whey protein isolate, whey protein concentrates, whey protein hydrolysates, and sweet whey.

Also the company overview is grossly incomplete. I recommend:

Leprino Foods was founded in 1950 by Mike Leprino as a family-owned market selling grocery items and handmade cheese in the north Denver area.[1][2] It was first sold under the Gina Marie brand.[1] Leprino Foods has manufacturing facilities in Waverly, New York, Remus, Michigan, Allendale, Michigan, Greeley, Colorado, Fort Morgan, Colorado, Roswell, New Mexico, Tracy, California, and Lemoore, California.[2] Through a joint European venture in 2000 with Glanbia which operates facilities in Boise, Idaho, Clovis, New Mexico, Northern Ireland and Wales; Leprino's products have expanded throughout the Western European marketplace.[2]

In the 1970s the organization changed its name to the Leprino Foods Company. Due to the concurrent pizza boom in the United States that introduced the previously unknown food into a household product, Leprino became the nation's #1 pizza cheese supplier by 1992. In 2010, with expanding global operations of both its cheese and nutrition products, Leprino Foods Company opened a business development hub in Singapore in 2010 with a subsequent sales office in Shanghai.
